ISO is probably the most widely used disc image format around the world. It allows you to create a backup of a CD or DVD and save it as a file on your hard disk, pen drive or cloud drive. However, an ISO image file can also be created directly from your files and folders, which is a very useful option in many situations. Well, Free ISO Creator is a software tool that can help you achieve it.

To be honest, the program's user interface is dull and little attractive, however, it is pretty intuitive and allows practically any PC user to create an ISO image file without problems. The "Options" button enables you to select your image's file system among "ISO9660", "ISO9660 + Joliet UNICODE name extension" (the default one) and "UDF ISO". Also, you can set the program to create a bootable ISO image for which you will need to provide the boot image file.

Back in the program's main window, you can start adding individual files or entire folders from your hard disk, network locations, portable devices or any other location you have access to. You can also manually create folders and rename your added files and folders. Besides, you can set the size limit of your ISO file to any of the predefined values (CD - 700MB, DVD-5 - 4.5GB or DVD-9 - 8GB) or type your custom value in Megabytes.
